Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Film Commission, is participating in the 29th edition of Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The festival, running from October 2-11, 2024, is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia and one of the world’s largest film markets. It features documentaries and narrative films, in addition to promoting rising talents in Asia.
The Saudi participation in the Busan Film Festival aims to foster cultural and cinematic relations between the Kingdom and South Korea and expand creative cooperation. It also aims to promote filming locations across the Kingdom and the Commission’s initiatives and programs.
Furthermore, it aims to promote Saudi talent and films and facilitate the exchange of cultural and cinematic ideas and expertise.
The Saudi Film Commission is taking part in the festival from October 5-8, 2024, with a dedicated pavilion that includes a delegation representing Saudi film industry partners.
The Saudi participation will contribute to bolstering solid and sustainable relations with Korean industry leaders and enhancing bilateral cooperation in film production and distribution.
Moreover, this partnership will strengthen relations other international participants, as this event is an important platform to expand cooperation with global experts in the film industry.
The purpose of the Saudi Film Commission’s participation in Busan International Film Festival 2024 is to highlight local efforts to develop the Saudi film industry and represent the Kingdom as a prime destination for film shooting.
It also underscores the Commission’s commitment to taking part in international cinematic events, establishing its status in the cinematic landscape, and building strategic partnerships, to further boost Saudi Arabia’s status in the global cinematic landscape.
