Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, inaugurated the third edition of the Saudi Games 2024 on Thursday. The ceremony, held at Boulevard Riyadh City, marked a significant moment in the nation’s sports history.
Royal Support for Sporting Excellence
In his speech, Prince Abdulaziz expressed deep gratitude for the royal patronage of the event. He credited King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support of Saudi sports. This backing, he said, motivates efforts to achieve sporting excellence on a national level.
Vision for Talent Discovery and Development
Prince Abdulaziz stressed that the Saudi Games are part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s vision to discover and nurture local talent. Over 200 clubs will compete in 52 sports, including 15 youth categories and seven Paralympic events. Hundreds of Saudi athletes are set to showcase their skills.
Call to Athletes for National Pride
The minister urged Saudi athletes to give their best during the competition. He encouraged them to represent the nation with pride and dedication, embodying the values of Saudi sportsmanship.
