
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Samir Sharifov, visited the Saudi pavilion at the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.
During the visit, Sharifov reviewed a range of Saudi initiatives and projects focused on urban development and sustainable housing. He was introduced to the Kingdom’s achievements in city planning, quality-of-life improvement, and urban sustainability, alongside its adoption of smart solutions in the municipal and housing sectors in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

The deputy prime minister also toured several models and projects displayed at the pavilion, showcasing the rapid urban transformation underway across Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom’s efforts to develop more sustainable, efficient, and livable cities. These initiatives further highlight Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a global benchmark in integrated urban development.
Featuring contributions from government, private-sector, and nonprofit organizations, the Saudi pavilion presents leading national experiences in urban planning, architectural identity, housing, municipal investment, and smart technologies as part of the Kingdom’s participation in the UN-Habitat-organized forum.
