Red Sea Museum Presents Contemporary Art Exhibition Celebrating Marine Biodiversity

The Red Sea Museum in historic Jeddah is presenting a contemporary art exhibition that highlights the richness of the Red Sea’s marine life. The showcase links the sea’s geological beginnings—tracing back to the Eocene epoch—with elements of natural history and creative expression.

Featuring a range of sculptures and installations, the exhibition illustrates the region’s remarkable biodiversity, spanning from microscopic organisms to large marine animals. It draws particular attention to the Red Sea’s resilient coral reefs, which flourish in warm, saline waters, while also conveying strong environmental messages about the need to protect these fragile ecosystems and promote sustainability.

The display includes a variety of artistic mediums, such as rare black coral pieces and textiles inspired by underwater textures. Together, these works complement the museum’s permanent collection of more than 1,000 artifacts, underscoring the Kingdom’s dedication to safeguarding both its cultural legacy and natural environment through engaging, modern exhibits.
