Yemeni army targets Houthi gathering in Al-Jawf, dozens killed, injured
The Yemeni army destroyed an armoured vehicle and a combat crew in Al-Jawf Governorate. The Yemeni Armed Forces’ Media Center reported the killing of several Houthi militia members and the injuring of others in the Khanjar front, north of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf Governorate.
On Sunday, deadly clashes erupted in Al-Jawf Governorate, in eastern Yemen, between Yemeni government forces and the Houthi militia.
The army and resistance forces engaged with the Houthi militia at the Jadafer front, east of Al-Jawf Governorate, according to the Yemeni army’s official website, inflicting heavy losses on the militias.
Colonel Muhammad Al-Hajji stated that army troops crushed a Houthi attack on army positions in the Jadafer front from three axes, forcing the militia to retreat after it suffered casualties.
The Yemeni army repulsed a militia offensive on Saturday in the district of Bart Al-Anan, north of Al-Jawf, on the fronts of “Al-Dhahra and Al-Qa’if.”
In early July, an armed tribal revolt against the Houthi militia took place in four districts of Al-Jawf governorate, including the governorate’s capital, Al-Hazm, against the backdrop of Houthi abuses and harassment of tribesmen.
The tribal revolt was focused on directorates in the capital’s countryside and the governorate of Amran.
