Saudi Arabia’s Roads General Authority (RGA) has launched the “Wrth Saudi” initiative in collaboration with the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth), according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The initiative seeks to celebrate authentic national crafts through informational signs along highways across the Kingdom in line with “The Year of Handicrafts.”
“Wrth Saudi” launched the first phase on three major highways, as follows:
- Riyadh–Dammam Road
- Hijra Road (Makkah–Madinah)
- Riyadh–Qassim Road
The future phases will involve several other vital roads across the Kingdom.

Through this initiative, the Kingdom offers a valuable opportunity to promote cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship.
The signs highlight the unique traditional arts for each region showcasing various crafts, as follows:
- Najdi door-making
- Clay construction
- Carpentry and wood decoration
- The bisht
The initiative represents an integral part of the efforts of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts to preserve Saudi national identity.
