What You Should Know about the “Black Hat” Event in Riyadh

As part of the activities of the Riyadh Season 2022, with its slogan “Beyond Imagination”, the Riyadh Front hosted the launch of the “Black Hat” event, which is the most prestigious technology conference in the world, in its first edition in the Middle East and North Africa.


This was under the auspices of Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority, during a huge ceremony held in the capital, Riyadh, organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming, and Drones, in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority.

Black Hat is the largest global event in the field of cybersecurity in the region. It chose Riyadh to be its headquarters this year. This is because it is an opportunity to exchange experiences in the field in the presence of the most prominent cybersecurity geniuses around the world.

The Black Hat event brings together the foremost minds in the field of cybersecurity at the Riyadh Front Center. This is part of the activities of the Riyadh season for the year 2022, in partnership with the Entertainment Authority.

This year’s Black Hat event will include more than 200 international speakers, in the presence of more than 250 leading cybersecurity companies. These include global technology giants such as Cisco, IBM, Spire, Infoblox, and more.

The “Black Hat” event was launched with six areas: the executive summit area, technical workshops, the business hall, the Arsenal, the training courses area, and the events area.

The event was attended by many heads of the information security sector of the most prestigious companies and entities in the world. In addition, there were many communication and training sessions and several speakers. The event also included a technical workshop area in which a group of specialized speakers presented the latest technologies in the field of cybersecurity.

The “FlagYard” platform was launched during the event’s launch ceremony. It is an electronic platform that includes some cybersecurity challenges, such as the “Capture the Flag” challenges, to train those interested in the field and develop their skills in a competitive educational space that is available at all times.

The event area, which comes under the strategic sponsorship of NEOM, received a wide turnout, as the “Capture the Flag” competition was launched with the participation of more than 1,000 contestants, comprising 250 teams, who competed for competition prizes amounting to SAR 700,000.
