The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has been witnessing a remarkable volunteer efforts especially in Medina. Individuals and organizations came together to make a positive impact on their communities.
During 2023, the Department of Volunteering and Social Responsibility organized 189 volunteer initiatives through the national platform for volunteer efforts.
5,880 male and female volunteers participated in these events on behalf of the Medina branch of Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture.
Volunteer Efforts
Volunteer efforts in KSA are playing a pivotal role in fostering a culture of compassion and civic engagement.
Although the volunteer efforts were continuous and tireless, and despite the stress, the participants persevered until the end to achieve their goals.
The number of volunteer hours for the initiatives exceeded (46,873) hours, through participation in community service work.
In addition, the Ministry of environment organized workshops in schools to raise awareness of the dangers of food waste on the environment.
The Ministry launched initiatives aimed at protecting natural resources, encouraging eco-friendly behavior, and increasing public knowledge of environmental issues.
Furthermore, volunteerism in KSA has also been pivotal in responding to humanitarian crises and providing relief to those affected by adversity.
Visions And Goals
Aiming to uphold environmental principles and social responsibility in the Medina region, the Ministry formed three volunteer teams in 2023.
They included: Molham team in Yanbu Governorate, the Wadi Al-Fara’a volunteer team, and the Ataa Watan team.
One of the Ministry’s necessary goals was to provide an environment for volunteers that would motivate them and involve them in volunteer work.
KSA has also recognized the significance of volunteerism, providing support and encouragement for volunteer initiatives programs.
In conclusion, the volunteer efforts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are a testament to the compassion, empathy, and proactive citizenship that define the nation’s communities.
Their collective actions exemplify the power of volunteerism to create a brighter future for all.
