US envoy to combat anti-Semitism hails Saudi reforms
The US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, expressed her happiness at her presence in the Kingdom, which she chose as the first stop from which to start her foreign visits to help launch the wheel of dialogue and tolerance between the Islamic and Jewish religions.
She said during an interview with Arab News: “I am happy with the changes that the Kingdom is making. The road ahead is still long, but you are on the right path”.
Lipstadt’s comments came on the sidelines of a symposium held at the headquarters of Arab News in Riyadh, where the history of anti-Semitism was discussed and the ambassador’s work in combating it was discussed.
The ambassador focused on recognizing her country’s past shortcomings.
She expressed her hope that this visit would help start changing the previous hostile view towards Jews in the region, considering that the new generations are working hard to change the prevailing views, which she appreciates.
