A major power cut in Manchester area on Sunday caused widespread disruption at the UK third-busiest airport, reported Sky News.
As a result, all flights departing the Manchester Airport are facing cancellation and severe delays.

In a statement, the Manchester Airport noted that Terminals 1 and 2 are severely affected, while Terminal 3 is running.
It said: “Manchester Airport was affected by a major power cut in the area earlier this morning. This has caused widespread disruption and flights from Terminals 1 and 2 are being cancelled. Airlines will be in contact with passengers.”

Although power has been restored, the impact will affect services throughout the day. The Airport said it is “working to get those passengers already at the airport onto flights as soon as possible.”

The Airport statement advised passengers due to travel from Terminals 1 or 2 not to come to the airport until further notice and to contact their airlines for updated information.
Meanwhile, passengers due to travel from Terminal 3 should come to the airport as normal unless otherwise advised, but they could be affected by delays, the statement added.
At the same time, some incoming flights to Manchester Airport are being diverted to other airports until services are completely restored.
