Turkish President Erdogan receives speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Shoura Council

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the depth of relations between his country and Saudi Arabia and his aspirations to increase the work that helps in their development and strengthening in various fields.

 

Erdogan said the aforementioned statements during his reception, on (Monday), in the Presidential Complex in the Turkish capital, Ankara, of the head of the Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah Al Sheikh, who is visiting the Turkish capital with a parliamentary delegation at the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart, SPA reported.

 

Historical Fraternal Relations

 

In a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Al-Sheik praised the “historical fraternal relations that link Saudi Arabia and Turkey and their two brotherly peoples”.

 

He referred to the importance of activating meetings and continuous communication between the two councils, pushing bilateral cooperation between the two countries to broader levels, strengthening parliamentary relations, and exchanging experience, coordination, and consultation on issues of common interest.

 

“During the reception, they discussed many issues of common interest between the two countries, in various fields, in a way that contributes to achieving their common interests.” SPA added.

 

The speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (Parliament) Mustafa Shantoub said, “Close cooperation and coordination between Turkey and Saudi Arabia in a wide geographical area benefits the entire region.”

 

In a speech during his meeting with his Saudi counterpart, he added that “mutual communication contributes to strengthening relations and cooperation between countries, and that communication at the political level between Ankara and Riyadh will add strength to intra-economic and trade relations.

 

 

Ankara supports the “Expo Riyadh 2030” file

 

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament confirmed the previous declaration of the Turkish President during his previous official visit to Jeddah, that his country supports the Saudi bid for the candidate to host the “Expo 2030” exhibition in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, explaining that this would constitute “a historic step for the entire region.”

 

Shantoub pointed out that Turkey “pays attention to the security and stability of the Gulf countries in particular, and we aim to create a positive atmosphere that prevails in the entire region through joint efforts, and we also attach special importance to regional economic integration and infrastructure development throughout the region.”
