The GCC worries about Iran’s nuclear program
His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, stressed the necessity for the GCC states to participate in the continuing negotiations between the permanent members of PF+1 (Germany, in this case) and the Islamic Republic of Iran, related to the nuclear agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
In letters addressed to the foreign ministers of the United States of America, the Russian Federation, China, France, Britain, and Germany, Al-Hajraf accented that the Cooperation Council is a major contributor to enhancing the security and regional stability. He added that the negotiations currently underway in Vienna must not be limited to the Iranian nuclear program, but must include Iran’s destabilizing behaviour, ballistic missiles, and marches.
Finally, his Excellency warned that Iran’s announcement of reaching 60% of uranium enrichment is a dangerous and worrying indicator against the security of the region and the world, calling on the international community to shoulder responsibilities about this dangerous and threatening development of regional and global peace and security.
