Statistics show that 66% of Saudi Youth Are Still Single
The General Authority for Statistics issued a special report entitled “Saudi youth in numbers”, coinciding with the International Youth Day, including population, social, economic, educational, health, cultural and entertainment statistics for Saudi youth.
The report indicated that 36.7% of the total population are young people between the ages of 15 to 34 years and that 27.6% of young males fall in the age group between 20-24 years, while 26.2% of females are in the age group between 20 to 24. Years, and the same percentage for females between the ages of 25 and 29 years. The percentage of children and youth in the total population was about 67% for the year 2020.
The report indicated that 66.23% of young men and women in the age group of 15 (34 years have never been married), 75.6% of males have never been married, while 50.4% of them are in the age group 15-34 years, while the percentage of Unmarried females in the age group 25-34 years.
The percentage of married women reached 34. 3%, and the percentage of divorced women in this age group was 1 . 27%, and the percentage of widows was 5%.
The report indicated that the percentage of Saudi youth from 15 to 34 years old who suffer from chronic diseases to the total Saudi population was 5.5%, the report also indicated that most Saudi females practice sports for the purpose of improving their health. As for males, it is noted that they practice physical fitness and recreation.
The report pointed out that the illiteracy rate decreased significantly among Saudi youth in the age group 15-34 years when compared to the years 2007-2017, and this decrease is mainly due to the decrease in the illiteracy rate among females.
The number of Saudi youth workers between the ages of 15-34 years, in 2019, reached nearly one and a half million people, which is 47% of the total Saudi workers.
