Saudi Women’s Premier League Kicks off on Friday
The second edition of the highly anticipated Saudi Women’s Premier League is set to kick off on Friday, featuring eight teams competing for the championship title and the coveted prize money.
The reigning champions, Al-Nassr, will be looking to defend their title against tough competition from clubs like Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Shabab, Al-Ahli, Al-Qadisiyah, Al-Riyadh, and Al-Shoalah.

Women’s Premier League Format and Schedule
The league will consist of 56 matches played over 14 rounds, with each team facing off against every other team twice, home and away.
The matches will be held in three cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam. The opening round will take place on Friday and Saturday, featuring exciting matchups such as Al-Nassr versus Al-Riyadh at the Riyadh Club Stadium, Al-Qadisiyah against Al-Hilal at the Al-Qadisiyah Stadium in Al-Khobar, Al-Ittihad versus Al-Shoalah at the Nahda Stadium in Dammam, and Al-Shabab against Al-Ahli at the Al-Ahli Club Stadium in Jeddah.
The Prize Money
The prize money for the Saudi Women’s Premier League is a substantial incentive for the teams.
The champion will receive a staggering two million Saudi riyals, while the runner-up will be rewarded with one million riyals. The third-place team will take home six hundred thousand riyals.
These generous prizes reflect the commitment of the Saudi Football Federation to promote and support women’s football in the country.
The Preparations and Expectations
The participating clubs have been diligently preparing for the league, making notable international signings, conducting intensive training sessions, and organizing preparatory camps.
The teams are determined to strengthen their squads and enhance their chances of success in the tournament.

Al-Nassr’s Title Defense
As the reigning champions, Al-Nassr will enter the league with the goal of retaining their title.
The team has been in excellent form, showcasing their prowess during their preseason preparations in Marbella, Spain. They played four friendly matches against renowned Spanish clubs, including Juvintud de Torremolinos, Carmita Malaga, Malaga City, and Los Alcazares.
Led by captain Munira Al-Hamdan and star players like Hessa Al-Shuwaikh and Maysa Ziyad, Al-Nassr is ready to defend their crown and continue their dominance in women’s football.
Al-Hilal’s Determination
Al-Hilal, the runner-up in the previous edition, is determined to go one step further and claim the championship this time.
The team has made significant signings, including the talented Guinean goalkeeper Conlan Synthia and players like Mavis Asuo, Ambel Bellampter, and the Cameroonian Claudia Dabda.
Under the guidance of Serbian coach Darko Stojanovic, Al-Hilal aims to showcase their strength and challenge Al-Nassr for the top spot.
