Saudi-US maneuvers to kick off in the Persian Gulf next week

Joint marine military drills between Saudi Arabia and US entitled “Marine Defender” to start next week, as the Saudi navy hosts the King Abdulaziz Naval Base in the Eastern Fleet and its counterpart, the US Navy.

The “Marine Defender” drills are an extension of a series of previous joint exercises between the two countries.

The exercise aims to raise the improve readiness to preserve the freedom of maritime navigation, it includes a number of exercises that enhance maritime security measures in the region, and unify the concepts of naval combat work.
