Saudi-UK Trade Expo to Enhance Saudi Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia and the UK will host a trade expo in Riyadh next month as part of the investment drive led by British Prime Minister to take advantage of the Saudi Vision 2030.

In partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom has launched the ‘Saudi Great Futures’, a 12-month campaign to highlight UK expertise and capability in sectors that bolster Saudi Vision 2030.

The flagship event includes a trade expo that will take place in Riyadh, on 14 and 15 May 2024.

British Deputy Prime Minister, Oliver Dowden, will attend the occasion with an accompanying delegation of more than 300 British business executives, according to remarks sent by his office.

“I am delighted to be leading such a talented delegation to this landmark event. From emerging technologies to academia, the UK has an exceptional skill base to share with the world,” he said.

This event marks the beginning of a year-long campaign to enhance the cooperative business relations between the UK and KSA. It will include numerous showcases by UK firms in various fields such as, commerce, business, culture, and education.

May’s trade expo will focus primarily on the innovations of artificial intelligence, mentioning the UK’s invitation to Saudi officials to participate in a global AI summit hosted by Sunak in November last year.

Moreover, it will pay close attention to research collaboration, disruptive technologies, emerging clean tech, finance and sustainable construction.

Therefore, this will enhance the collaborative relations between both Kingdoms and increase the possibility of forging several future partnerships, supporting Saudi Vision 2030.

“Our two nations work closely on security and energy. We look forward to strengthening those connections in new areas that feed the Vision 2030 agenda,” Mr. Dowden stated.

It is noteworthy that the UK has a long history of deep relations and strong commercial links with Saudi Arabia. In 2022, the trade between both of them has increased to £16.5 billion from £12.1 billion in 2018, according to the statement.
