According to the report, travelers plan their trips more in advance compared to last year. This indicates the return of traditional travel seasons in 2024.
Travelers in Europe, Saudi Arabia, the Middle East and Africa are showing great confidence with an increase in the number of flights booked in advance.
Moreover, 53% of travelers from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa opted for European destinations, marking a 4% rise from last year.
Skyscanner’s 2024 Travel Trends Report noted a surge in demand among UAE and Saudi Arabian travelers for cultural exploration, particularly in various European capitals.
Furthermore, Italy, renowned for its iconic landmarks and delectable cuisine, consistently ranks as one of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s top holiday spots for the third consecutive time.
The popular destinations of Spain and Greece are highly sought-after on Skyscanner, with flight durations either slightly decreasing or stabilizing annually in many places.
Destinations experiencing significant annual search increases include Victoria in Canada, Marmagao in India, and Panama City, reflecting the interest in exploring new places. Additionally, Bol in Croatia, Pristina in Kosovo, and Lampedusa in Italy are witnessing notable rises in search volume among travelers from Europe.
