The Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has launched the second phase of CyberIC Program to develop the cybersecurity sector in Saudi Arabia.
The CyberIC Program is designed to enhance the Kingdom’s cybersecurity, build specialized national capabilities, and raise the cyber preparedness of national entities. This aligns with NCA’s efforts to develop the cybersecurity sector and human capabilities in order to boost Saudi Arabia’s cybersecurity.
According to the NCA, the second phase of the CyberIC Program centers around 6 key categories: cybersecurity specialists, cybersecurity leaders, investigation specialists and legal authorities, cybersecurity technicians, national entities executives, and students and fresh graduates. The Program targets 13,000 beneficiaries in cybersecurity-related fields.
Furthermore, the NCA noted that the CyberIC Program is inclusive and keeps pace with the latest developments in the cybersecurity-related areas. This includes data analysis, encryption, and secure cloud computing.
The Program also aims to reach all the targeted categories through a wide range of specialized training programs at the National Academy for Cybersecurity, in partnership with the Saudi Information Technology Company (SITE), NCA’s technical arm, and leading international universities.
The CyberIC Program is one of the pillars of the National Cybersecurity Strategy. It involves several programs that aim to develop skills and promote cybersecurity knowledge. Hence, it contributes to enhancing cybersecurity nationwide to protect the Kingdom’s vital interests, critical infrastructure, government services and activities, and key entities in the public and private sectors.
