Saudi Music Commission Unveils “Marvels of the Saudi Orchestra” Concert in Rome

The Music Commission has announced that the 11th stop of its internationally celebrated “Marvels of Saudi Orchestra” tour will be held in Rome this May. The event is organized under the patronage of Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Music Commission. The concert will feature renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli alongside the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir, complemented by performances curated by the Theater and Performing Arts Commission.
The global tour began in Paris and continued through major cultural hubs such as Mexico City, New York, London, and Tokyo, before returning to Riyadh at the King Fahad Cultural Center. It later expanded to prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House, the Château de Versailles, and the Maraya Theater. Throughout its journey, the tour has served as a platform for cultural exchange, bringing Saudi musical traditions into dialogue with international audiences.
Hosting the concert in Rome—long celebrated for its rich artistic and musical heritage—adds special significance to this stage of the tour. By performing in one of Europe’s foremost cultural capitals, the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir highlight music’s ability to transcend borders, encourage dialogue, and connect cultures through shared artistic expression.

The Rome performance will present a diverse program blending Saudi, Italian, and international compositions. The orchestra will be joined by Italian musicians under the direction of Maestro Marcello Rota, with Andrea Bocelli as the featured performer. In addition to orchestral works, the concert will showcase traditional Saudi performing arts such as Ardah Wadi Al-Dawasir, Al-Khatwa, and Yanbaawi—regional forms that combine rhythm, movement, and poetry to create a vibrant and unified artistic experience.

Commenting on the event, Music Commission CEO Paul Pacifico described the Rome concert as not only a milestone in the tour but also an opportunity to introduce Saudi artistry to new audiences and foster creative collaboration with leading global talents.
