Saudi Minister of Defense & his British counterpart sign “Defense Cooperation Plan”
HRH Prince Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Minister of Defense, was received by British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace on Tuesday at the Royal Cavalry Guard Square in London.
During his official reception ceremony, the Saudi royal anthem was played, and the guard of honor was reviewed.
The Saudi Minister of Defense met with his British counterpart at the British Ministry of Defense headquarters. They reviewed the strategic and historical relations between the two friendly countries.
Both ministers discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in the military and defense fields. They also discussed issues of common concern and developments at the regional and international levels.
The Saudi Minister of Defense and his British counterpart also signed a defense cooperation plan. This plan aims to develop the Saudi Ministry of Defense’s capabilities, localize Military Industries, and strengthen the countries’ military and defense partnerships.
Many officials from both countries will discuss relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the military and defense fields.
Moreover, Prince Khalid said through Twitter that he met with his UK counterpart to review the historic and strategic relations between our two countries.
“We discussed our growing military and defense cooperation and reviewed a number of issues and developments of common concern” Prince Khalid noted.
He added that a defense cooperation plan had been signed. This will help strengthen the capabilities of the Ministry of Defense by enhancing its readiness, knowledge sharing, training, and industry localization.
Last October, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman received a phone call from British Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
During the call, they reviewed the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UK. They discussed bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries in the military and defense fields, and ways to enhance it, in addition to discussing developments in regional and international events, and the efforts made towards them.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and British Defense Minister bin Wallace reviewed “by phone” the strategic relations between the two countries.
According to the agency, the Saudi Defense Minister met his Yemeni counterpart, Lieutenant-General Mohsen Muhammad al-Daari, and they discussed cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides also touched on the efforts of the UN to extend the armistice, alleviate the Yemeni people’s suffering, and discuss future steps to deal with potential changes.
Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz affirmed the continuation of the coalition led by the Kingdom to support the Yemeni government and people, advance efforts to end the Yemeni crisis, and meet the aspirations of Yemenis for peace and stability.
