Assistant Director-General of Jizan Health, Dr. Awaji Al-Naimi, said that the marine ambulance service includes three beds, including an intensive care bed, with the ability to expand to five beds.

He also added that it also includes a cardiopulmonary resuscitation device, a stretcher that has the feature of absorbing shocks caused by waves and adapting to movement in the middle of the sea, a fluid suction device, and all emergency medicines for emergency cases.

The marine ambulance action plan enables the transfer of emergency medical cases from Farasan Island to the Jazan port in a period not exceeding 45 minutes,

The ambulance has smart systems that enable the medical transport operations center to follow the movement of the ambulance at sea, and determine the locations until it reaches the port.

According to “SPA“, the governor of Jizan region stressed the importance of the service, which comes as an extension of the Ministry of Health’s endeavor to provide health services to all families and residents.
