Saudi Gov’t Works on Exceptional Transformation to Optimize Pilgrim Services

As the Saudi Kingdom envisions the transformation of Hajj and Umrah into a sophisticated and sustainable industry, the Ministry employs modern technologies and highly trained professionals. This is to constantly upgrade and enhance the services provided.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia plays a crucial role in organizing and managing the annual Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. With a focus on delivering exceptional services to pilgrims worldwide, the Ministry is dedicated to improving their overall experience. It also ensures the safe and comfortable execution of religious rituals.

To optimize the pilgrim experience, the Ministry collaborates closely with other entities such as the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage. It also collaborates closely with the Ministry of Health and Transport. Continuous communication with pilgrims allows the Ministry to listen to their suggestions and fulfill their needs effectively. By fostering partnerships and promoting dialogue, the Ministry aims to create a supportive environment for pilgrims.

A key aspect of the Ministry’s initiatives is training and awareness programs for pilgrims. These programs enhance their religious and cultural knowledge and emphasize Hajj and Umrah. Additionally, the Ministry extends support and care to pilgrims with disabilities or health difficulties, ensuring they receive the necessary services and assistance on their journey.

Nusuk Platform

Among the significant milestones achieved by the Ministry in recent years is the notable launch of the “Nusuk” platform. This is a national digital platform designed to enhance pilgrim services worldwide. Through this platform, launched late last year, individuals can obtain visas, book appointments, and book hotels.

With more than 121 diverse services, Nusuk simplifies the arrival process for over 30 million pilgrims and visitors. This aligns with Vision 2030 objectives, according to Dr. Tawfiq al-Rabi’a, Minister of Hajj and Umrah. The platform fosters collaboration with over 10,000 business entities and aims to establish integration links with 25 government entities.

Nusuk aims to send notifications to pilgrims at all stages of Umrah and Hajj performances in the historical areas and religious sites in Makkah and Medina. It is a reliable platform to provide integrated services transparently in one location to facilitate the planning of the spiritual journey. It provides all health services, regulations, and procedures.

Building Rental Services

The Ministry is committed to refining and developing the pilgrimage experience through various programs and initiatives. Notably, the “Building Rental Services” initiative offers temporary accommodation for pilgrims in buildings that adhere to rigorous health and security standards, providing a comfortable and conducive living environment.

Pilgrims Experience Program

The Pilgrims Experience Program is another noteworthy effort to streamline pilgrimage procedures, reduce overcrowding, and enhance the overall experience. An advanced electronic system facilitates coordination among pilgrims, the organizing department, and the distribution of individuals across holy sites, preventing overcrowding. Moreover, the Ministry strives to facilitate luxury transportation services for pilgrims, offering convenient travel options between sacred sites, major cities, and airports. This measure ensures pilgrims can travel comfortably and avoids congestion in public transport systems.

By leveraging modern technologies, fostering collaborations, and implementing innovative initiatives, the Ministry is progressing towards realizing the Kingdom’s vision of transforming Hajj and Umrah into a sophisticated, sustainable, and high-quality industry, while upholding the cultural and religious significance of these sacred journeys.
