Ibrahim Al-Nasser, a gaming enthusiast from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has set a new Guinness World Record. He connected 444 different gaming consoles to a single TV, showcasing his dedication to both gaming and technical ingenuity.
The Challenge of Managing a Massive Collection
Al-Nasser, frustrated by the difficulty of managing his vast gaming collection, devised a unique solution. He connected all 444 consoles to one TV, using over 12 HDMI switchers and more than 30 RCA switchers. This complex setup allows him to switch between consoles easily, avoiding the need to disconnect and reconnect devices constantly.
A Collection Like No Other
His collection includes everything from a Magnavox Odyssey, the first-ever gaming console released in 1972, to the latest PlayStation 5 Slim. Al-Nasser’s collection also features rare consoles like the Asia-exclusive Super A’Can, plug-and-play devices, gaming computers, and Android-based HDMI sticks.
Meticulous Organization
To manage this extensive setup, Al-Nasser uses a detailed Excel spreadsheet. This sheet helps him track which switcher to activate for each console, ensuring seamless gameplay. He also takes great pride in his cable management, keeping his setup tidy and museum-like. “I use all the tools available in the market to organize the cables,” he said. “It’s like a museum, that’s why it took so much time.”
Gaming as a Serious Endeavor
Al-Nasser’s dedication goes beyond casual gaming. He views his collection and setup as a serious project, one that earned him recognition in the gaming community. “I’m so happy and proud that I’m officially a record holder,” he shared, reflecting on the effort and passion behind his achievement.
