Last week, Borrell condemned Israeli settlers’ violence against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank. He said he plans to propose “EU sanctions against violent settlers’ enablers, including some Israeli government’s members.”
On the occasion of the World Humanitarian Day, the EU Foreign Policy Chief warned of the humanitarian crisis in the Occupied Palestinian West Bank and Gaza, where civilians and aid workers are being targeted.
The UN has said that 2023 was the deadliest year on record for aid workers, and 2024 is likely to follow the same terrifying trend.
Separately, the Saudi Foreign Minister received on Sunday a phone call from the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. Both officials discussed the major regional developments, including efforts that aim to reach a ceasefire and end the war in Gaza, and the latest developments in Sudan and Yemen.
During the call, Blinken praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
