Saudi Finance Minister says China is KSA’s largest trading partner
Saudi Finance Minister Muhammad Al-Jadaan said that China is “very important to Saudi Arabia” and its largest trading partner, “but the US is also a very important and strategic partner.”
Al-Jadaan added during his participation in the activities of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023 in the Swiss city of Davos: “Our goal is really to bridge the gap, and to be a communication force and we encourage communication, whether it is China, the US or others.”
Likewise, the Saudi ambassador to the US, Princess Rima bint Bandar Al Saud, considered that maintaining the long-term strategic partnership between Riyadh and Washington is “necessary” for global stability.
She said during her participation in a symposium at the Davos Forum: “Yes, there was a moment of conflict and disagreement, but this does not detract from the fact that we are strategic allies and that we are friends, and this relationship is important to the world.”.
In another context, the Saudi Minister of Finance indicated that the Kingdom is changing the way it provides aid to its allies by providing direct grants and deposits without conditions.
He added, “We are used to providing grants and direct aid without conditions, and we are changing that,” stressing that Saudi Arabia is urging the countries of the region to carry out reforms.
He added, “We need to see reforms. We tax our people and expect others to do the same and make an effort. We want to help, but we want you to do your part.”
A senior Saudi delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, is participating in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023, in the Swiss city of Davos, intending to strengthen international cooperation and find more common solutions to face geopolitical, economic, development and social challenges.
During its participation in the forum this year, the Saudi delegation will shed light on the progress made within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030, and the process of transformation and development that aims to reach a prosperous and diversified economy that is open to opportunities for cooperation with the world, according to the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.
