Saudi Arabia wins two silver medals at the women’s Arab Fencing Championship

The Saudi fencing team raised its tally in the Arab Fencing Championship, which is currently being held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, to 6 medals.

 

The Saudi women’s fencing team won two silver medals for the epee and cyber weapons

 

The Saudi national team was represented by: Nada Abed, Fawzia Al-Khaibri, Dhay Al-Amiri, and Shawq Al-Jazzar.

 

The Saudi cyber team was represented by Ahed Al-Muammar, Al-Hasna Al-Hammad, Dana Al-Qahtani, and Ruba Al-Masry.

 

The two medals will be added to the four bronze medals achieved yesterday by Nada Abed (cyber weapon), Al-Hasna Al-Hammad (cyber weapon), Jawad Al-Daoud (cyber weapon), and Mishary Al-Bashir (cyber weapon).

 

The Saudi fencing team concluded its participation on Thursday, with the men’s and women’s foil and men’s sayer competitions.

 

Women’s sports in Saudi Arabia have witnessed a boom in recent times. This is because women’s participation in sports activities increased, during the period between 2015 and 2020, by 150%, according to statistics from the Ministry of Sports.
