Saudi CST, stc Group, Nokia Complete MENA’s First 7 GHz Trial for 6G
The Saudi Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), in collaboration with stc Group and Nokia, announced the success of the first 7 GHz frequency band trial dedicated to developing 6G technologies – the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
As one of the key bands expected to be a launchpad for future 6G technologies, the 7 GHz trial aims to test its potential and explore opportunities for its deployment in 6G technologies, CST said in a press release.
The trial is the product of CST’s strategic initiatives, which aim to fulfill the Kingdom’s tech sector aspirations and enable future technologies through partnerships that secure an advanced digital infrastructure. It also reinforces the Commission’s status as an innovative regional and international leader.
Moreover, this move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s efforts to pioneer in innovation and technology on a global scale and further establishes the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for digital development, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The trial also builds on stc Group’s efforts to advance digital transformation and empower society through technology. To this end, stc continues to support innovation and expand its digital presence, while focusing on sustainability and exploring future opportunities in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The recent achievement highlights Saudi Arabia’s advanced digital infrastructure, which enabled it to become a global leader in advanced technological solutions and innovation.
