The Saudi Film Commission has joined the Asian Film Commissions Network (AFCNet) to boost international cooperation and enhance knowledge exchange, Arab News reported.
This remarkable step underscores the commission’s pivotal efforts to support local and regional film projects. Therefore, the membership will motivate co-productions and elevate Saudi Arabia’s film industry.
In addition, the commission seeks to provide filmmakers with new promising opportunities and prestigious platforms to display their creative works and enhance distribution channels through various competitive incentives.
It is worth noting that the commission joined the Association of Film Commissioners International in June 2024 to foster the Kingdom’s position as a prestigious destination for global film industry as well as enhance international collaboration with other global entities.
Established in 2004, the AFCNet serves as a nonprofit network consisting of over 50 members from 19 Asian countries and regions. It includes several entities such as film commissions, production offices as well as related organizations.
