Saudi Cabinet Approves Converting Regulation Agency into Independent Center

The Cabinet held its session – via video call – headed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the session, in order to convert the Regulations Agency at the Ministry of Finance into an independent center, it approved the national policy for radioactive waste management.

The Cabinet touched on a number of issues about the course of events and their developments both regionally and globally, stressing the contents of the message that the Kingdom’s permanent delegation to the UN addressed to the Security Council.

The session also stressed the call to condemn the cowardly terrorist attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia which targeted the Abha International Airport.

The Acting Minister of Information, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, stated that the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s support for the peaceful efforts to establish security and stability in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of the cowardly terrorist attacks that targeted Erbil International Airport. In addition, it expressed that it stands by the sisterly Republic of Iraq in all its steps and measures, in preserving its security and supporting its efforts in fighting terrorist organizations that seek to undermine its stability and influence its sovereignty.

Regarding local issues, the Cabinet reviewed the developments of the Corona pandemic, a set of reports on the latest virus statistics in the Kingdom, the relevant indicators, and the efforts made to return the infection curves to the desired directions, with continued emphasis on adhering to the precautionary and preventive measures and following up on their implementation.

Furthermore, the Cabinet reviewed the topics on its agenda, including issues such as the Shura Council participated in studying; the findings of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs; the Council of Political and Security Affairs; the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts in the Cabinet.
