The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has marked a significant milestone in environmental sustainability, announcing that all airports across the Kingdom have successfully secured environmental operating permits from the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC). This achievement follows the completion of all required environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
The announcement was made during the opening Environment Week 2026, highlighting the collective efforts of government entities to advance the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in environmental protection and improved sustainability performance.
Granting environmental permits to all Saudi airports represents the culmination of the aviation sector’s commitment to full compliance with environmental regulations. Additionally, it underscores the sector’s dedication to implementing top-tier sustainability practices across its facilities—helping to minimize environmental impact, enhance the quality of surrounding environments, and improve overall operational efficiency.

GACA emphasized that this accomplishment reflects a strong strategic partnership with the NCEC and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring that aviation operations maintain a careful environmental balance aligned with the Kingdom’s vision for sustainable infrastructure and long-term development.
