Saudi Arabia Wins Bid to Host IASP 2027 Conference

Saudi Arabia has won a bid to host the 2027 World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Represented by Dhahran Techno Valley at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, the 2027 edition will bring together 1,000 participants, including academics, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The selection was made during the association’s General Assembly held in Beijing after fierce competition from science parks in Norrköping of Sweden and Chiang Mai of Thailand.

By hosting the IASP 2027, the Kingdom reaffirms its pioneering position on the global map of innovation and scientific creativity.

Moreover, it stands as a living proof of its growing capabilities in energy, sustainability, and future technologies.

It also highlights Saudi Arabia’s attractive and supportive environment for innovation and investment.

Dhahran Techno Valley won decisively in the first round, securing 87 votes out of 118—well above the 59 required for victory.

Launched in 1984, IASP includes more than 350 members across 80 countries, encompassing over 115,000 companies in technology, research and development, and entrepreneurship.

Over the years, the association has hosted 40 global conferences and 181 regional events, reinforcing its role as the world’s leading network for innovation ecosystems.
