The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has introduced the Direct Umrah Program to boost the pilgrim experience. This initiative allows companies to serve pilgrims directly, cutting out intermediaries to ensure higher service quality.
Enhancing Pilgrim Experience
The program aims to enrich pilgrim experiences by encouraging visits to historical sites linked to the Prophet’s life. It also promotes discovering the Kingdom’s attractions, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia recorded 13.5 million pilgrims. The new program seeks to improve these figures by supporting service providers. It encourages companies to adopt professional destination management and trip organization strategies.
Strategic Collaboration and Innovation
The ministry collaborated with the Pilgrim Experience Program, an integral part of Saudi Vision 2030, to organize the second Umrah organizations’ gathering in Makkah. Led by Hajj and Umrah Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the meeting focused on enhancing the Umrah experience and empowering the private sector to provide year-round services.
The gathering addressed challenges, proposed solutions, and introduced new tools and performance indicators for monitoring service quality. It also discussed strategic directions for the Umrah season and launched innovative services.
Vision 2030 Commitment
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah remains committed to improving Umrah services annually. This commitment aims to welcome more pilgrims each year, ensuring a rich and unique faith journey in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
