Saudi Arabia to keep foreign scholarships for its students abroad

The Saudi Education Minister, Dr. Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, addressed concerned entities to checking all scholarships to study remotely at all academic levels until the end of 2020, in a manner that does not conflict with the residency system in the country of scholarship around the world.

The Minister of Education directed the continuation of spending on those who graduated and ended their scholarship in the spring and summer semesters of 2020, and is still in the scholarship country and has not been able to return to Saudi Arabia, provided that his return is completed within a month from the date of this decision.

He also confirmed the continuation of the financial allocations for scholarship students (without accompanying persons) who were in Saudi Arabia during the pandemic period, and who are continuing their studies remotely, provided that the cases that require continued disbursement to the escorts are submitted to the Deputy Minister for Universities, Research and Innovation.

 Minister Al Sheikh authorized the Deputy Minister for Universities Research and innovation to approve the requests of those wishing to postpone the mission for an additional year due to the pandemic.
