Saudi Arabia to Host 27th Arabian Gulf Cup in 2026

Saudi Arabia will host the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup from September 23 to October 6, 2026, in Riyadh. The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) announced the decision during its General Assembly in Kuwait City.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani, AGCFF President and Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth, led the pivotal assembly. Members unanimously voted to select Saudi Arabia as the host for this prestigious regional tournament.

Gulf Federation Rebranding

The AGCFF introduced a new name, now officially called the Gulf Federation, marking a step toward broader regional collaboration. This rebranding aims to enhance its global image and expand its influence beyond the Arabian Gulf Cup.

The General Assembly included AGCFF Secretary-General Jassim al-Rumaihi, representatives from all eight member federations, and AGCFF committee members. This high-profile meeting underscored the federation’s commitment to fostering regional football unity.

Saudi Arabia’s History as Host

Saudi Arabia previously hosted the Arabian Gulf Cup in 1972, 1988, and 2002, showcasing its rich football heritage. Hosting the 27th edition aligns with Vision 2030, which focuses on promoting sports and elevating the Kingdom’s international presence.

Football fans anticipate an exciting tournament featuring eight teams and a platform for cultural exchanges in Riyadh. The 27th Arabian Gulf Cup promises to deliver thrilling competition and memorable moments.
