Saudi Arabia announced that it will build 3,000 buildings for temporary shelter in Turkey and Syria, for those affected by the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria about a week ago.
In a statement to the Saudi Al-Ekhbariya channel, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the royal court and general supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, said, “The kingdom is one of the first countries that existed urgently after the disaster.”
He added, “We are coordinating with the relevant authorities in Turkey to set priorities,” noting that “the Saudi aid campaign reached different places in record time.”
“We are communicating with the Syrian Red Crescent to set priorities and provide support in Aleppo,” al-Rabeeah said.
He added, “The door to volunteering is still open, and we need specializations related to the disaster, as the scale of the disaster is very large, and tens of thousands need shelters.”

The White House said on Monday, that the total number of UN relief trucks that have entered Syria so far has reached 52, but more must be done, noting that a convoy of 10 trucks crossed into Syria on Sunday and that it is necessary for the UN Security Council to approve more than that.
It stressed that the US is ready to assist the earthquake victims in both Turkey and Syria and that it continues to provide relief and support the Turkish teams on the ground and assess the damage.
The White House indicated that humanitarian and medical relief and food would be excluded from all US and international sanctions imposed on Syria.
“The High Relief Commission in Syria has received 7 trucks of them, and the UN agencies operating in Syria have received 7 other trucks, to distribute them to the affected people in the affected areas.” The White House explained.
