Saudi Arabia suspends flights for travelers for a week

An official source in the Saudi Ministry of Interior stated that the Kingdom has decided to temporarily suspend all international flights for travelers for a week, which could be extended for another week, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Moreover, the source said, “Based on what the Ministry of Health has raised about the spread of a new mutated type of the emerging Coronavirus (Covid-19) in several countries, and until medical information about the nature of this virus becomes clear, and out of a desire to take urgent measures to protect the public health of citizens and residents and ensure their safety, the Kingdom’s government has decided to take the following precautions:

First: Suspending all international flights for travelers –other than exceptional cases – temporarily for one week. This could be extended for another week. However, foreign flights that are currently in the Kingdom’s territory are allowed to leave.

Second: Suspending entry into the Kingdom through the land and seaports temporarily for one week, and this could be extended for another week.

Third: Anyone who returned from one of the European countries or any country where the pandemic appeared, as determined by the Ministry of Health as of 4/23/1442 AH (12/8/2020 CE), must adhere to the following:

– Home isolation for two weeks, starting from the date of his coming to the Kingdom.

– To examine the new Coronavirus during his isolation period, with repeated examination every five days.

Fourth: Anyone who has returned from one of the European countries, passed through it or any country where the pandemic appeared during the past three months must undergo a Covid-19 examination.
