Amid Saudi Arabia’s efforts to provide a unique Hajj experience, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced a digital system to streamline Tawaf (circumambulation around the Holy Kaaba) during the Hajj season 2024.
This has involved developing smart digital applications to facilitate the Tawaf process and make it faster for the millions of pilgrims expected this year, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The initiative will enable pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals smoothly and with devotion. The smart applications will monitor Tawaf operations and ensure that Tawaf guides adhere to instructions and guidelines to deliver the best outcome for pilgrims.
The General Department of Tawaf Affairs offers many services to pilgrims, including welcoming and guiding them during Tawaf and educating them on the proper method according to Prophet Mohammed’s Sunnah.
More than 160 qualified young Saudi men are taking part in implementing this program during Hajj season to ensure pilgrims perform Tawaf with ease.
The General Department of Tawaf Affairs is an affiliate of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. It provides guidance to pilgrims on how to properly perform Hajj rituals.
The Hajj season is expected on June 14, 2024. Saudi Arabia has geared up to receive over 2 million pilgrims. The Kingdom’s transportation and logistics sector has finished preparations for the Hajj season and is ready to receive pilgrims by land, air, sea, and rail. Saudi airports have been receiving pilgrims since May 9.
