Saudi Arabia is the third recipient of immigrants in the World

Saudi Arabia is ranked third globally in receiving migrants, according to a new UN report on “International Migration 2020”.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia also is ranked third in the list of top exporters of foreign remittances by 135 billion riyals in 2018.

The above remittances increased by 32 billion riyals in comparison to 2012 where it was estimated at that time by 103 billion riyals.

According to the United Nations, more than half of international migrants (141 million) live in Europe and North America, and about 52 percent of male migrants are looking for work, those number is 164 million.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) of the United Nations said the number of international migrants in 2019 is now estimated at 270 million.

In its latest report, (IOM) noted that the total figure of international migrants represents only a small fraction of the world’s population, although it represents a 0.1% increase from the level indicated in its report published two years ago.
