Saudi Arabia hosts 4,000 exhibitions during 2022 first half

The Saudi General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences registered the issuance of licenses to hold more than 4000 exhibitions and conferences for various sectors in all regions of the Kingdom during the first half of this year, with an increase of 367% compared to the same period last year.

The largest share of these was the sectors of health care, economy, commerce, and education.

The General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences has developed procedures for issuing licenses to reduce the approval period, based on the authority’s role to enable the growth of the business tourism sector in strengthening the national economy and contributing to the non-oil domestic product, in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.

The authority is constantly working on building strategic partnerships with the relevant authorities to enable the sector’s growth through the continuous development of the legislation regulating the sector, which contributes to attracting quality exhibitions and conferences and developing national expertise and human cadres to raise the quality of local events and activities.

The Acting CEO of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, Amjad bin Essam Shaker, stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships, saying: “We are constantly working with the relevant authorities to develop procedures and legislation to contribute to organizing and motivating the sector to attract exhibitions and conferences.
