Saudi Health announced the resumption of the second dose of the Corona vaccine to its beneficiaries of all age groups, according to the national plan, followed by booking an appointment through the “My Health” application.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that 50% of the population had been immunised with the first dose of the vaccine. The total doses administered since the start of vaccination have reached more than 19 and a half million.
In a press conference, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, stated that since the beginning of this year, there had been a state of inaction and recklessness on some members of society. That increased the number of infections, especially during the Eid al-Fitr period.
He emphasised the importance of preventative and crisis measures to avoid increasing the number of injuries associated with the virus outbreak.
Al-Abd Al-Aali warned against transmitting and listening to rumours, stressing that the vaccines do not cause abortion or contraception.
Since the first case in the Kingdom, there have been 501,195 instances in total, with 10,805 new cases. The majority are active, stable, and in good health, including 418 critical patients undergoing intensive care. The overall number of recovery cases reached 482,414, and the death toll rose to 7,976.
The Ministry of the Interior emphasised to citizens and residents the importance of following preventive measures and instructions issued by the appropriate authorities.
