Saudi Arabia Extends Healing Hand to Palestinian Child Injured in Gaza War

A beacon of hope now shines for Mohammed Khaled Hijazi, a 7-year-old Palestinian boy, as he arrived in Riyadh on Thursday with his family. Young Mohammed will receive specialized medical treatment in Saudi Arabia for severe injuries sustained during the recent conflict in Gaza. This compassionate initiative underscores the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian aid.

Mohammed tragically lost his right eye and suffered significant damage to his left eye during an explosion near his home. This devastating incident occurred in March within the Jabalia camp, located in northern Gaza. Consequently, his journey to recovery now begins in the Kingdom.

Royal Directives Pave the Way for Compassionate Care

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud personally directed Mohammed’s treatment in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, this benevolent decision followed a direct recommendation from Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Authorities have since transferred Mohammed to the esteemed King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, ensuring he receives world-class care.

Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), conveyed profound gratitude. He specifically thanked the Kingdom’s leadership for their exceptional humanitarian gesture. This action undeniably reflects Saudi Arabia’s persistent efforts to support the Palestinian people during periods of acute crisis. Moreover, it particularly focuses on vulnerable populations like children, who disproportionately bear the brunt of conflicts.

Compassion and Solidarity Guide Saudi Aid

This vital initiative forms an integral part of the Kingdom’s broader humanitarian strategy, spear-headed by KSrelief, which consistently provides aid without any discrimination based on race, gender, or religious affiliation. Instead, their actions are deeply rooted in principles of profound compassion and international solidarity. The Hijazi family, for their part, expressed immense appreciation to the Saudi leadership for providing this critical care for their beloved son. They affirmed this gesture perfectly aligns with the Kingdom’s historic and steadfast support for the Palestinian people.
