Saudi Arabia condemns the terrorist attack on the Russian embassy in Kabul
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned on (Monday) the “treacherous terrorist attack on the Russian embassy in the Afghan capital, Kabul,” which led to the death and injury of some people.
The Taliban pledges to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the bombing near the Russian embassy in Kabul.
In a statement, the ministry affirmed, “The Kingdom’s total rejection of all terrorist acts that target innocent people and diplomatic missions everywhere,” reiterating the Kingdom’s support for “all intensive international efforts aimed at eliminating terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations and drying up its sources of funding.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its “sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Russian Federation, with its wishes for a speedy recovery to all the injured.”
The “Islamic State” organization stated its Telegram accounts on Monday claiming responsibility for the suicide bombing that took place at the Russian embassy in Kabul and killed two of its Russian employees and four Afghan civilians.
One of the members of the organization blew himself up near the embassy, during a gathering of its employees. It was the first attack on a diplomatic mission in Afghanistan since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021.

The organization said that one of its fighters went to the headquarters of the Russian embassy in Kabul and “detonated his explosive vest during a gathering of Russian employees.”
