Saudi Arabia condemns the failed coup attempt in Sudan
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement, that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces the failed coup attempt that took place against the legitimate state institutions in Sudan.
Quoting the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”, on Wednesday morning, the ministry affirmed in its statement the Kingdom’s solidarity with Sudan in everything that supports its security, stability, and prosperity, the government, and the people.
The Minister of Culture and Information, and the official spokesman for the Sudanese government, Hamza Balloul Al-Amir, announced control at dawn Tuesday, September 21, 2021, over a failed coup attempt by a group of armed forces officers from the remnants of the former regime.
He confirmed the arrest of the coup plotters, both civilians and soldiers, and the thwarting of the last pockets of the attempt in the armored vehicles in the Shagara suburb, south of Khartoum.
