Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Shooting on Diplomatic Delegation in Jenin

Saudi Arabia has strongly denounced the Israeli forces shooting on a foreign diplomatic delegation visiting Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the gunfire attack carried out by Israeli forces against a diplomatic delegation of ambassadors and representatives of Arab and foreign countries during their visit to the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

In the light of this, Saudi Arabia called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council permanent member states, to immediately end Israel’s violations against civilians, diplomatic missions, and relief agencies working in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Moreover, the Kingdom reiterated its call for the activation of an international accountability mechanism for Israel’s ongoing crimes and its repeated violations of the international law and international humanitarian law.

On Wednesday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry accused Israeli troops of opening “heavy fire from inside the Jenin refugee camp to intimidate the diplomatic delegation that is conducting a field tour around the camp.”

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement, strongly condemning what it called a “heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces, which deliberately targeted by live fire an accredited diplomatic delegation to the State of Palestine during a field visit to Jenin Governorate.”

The diplomatic delegation included the ambassadors of Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Portugal, China, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Spain, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Japan, Romania, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Canada, India, Chile, France, the UK, the European Union, and representatives of other countries, according to WAFA.

Meanwhile, Israel said its military fired “warning shots” after delegation “deviated from the approved route and entered an area where they were not authorized to be,” reported AFP.
