Saudi Arabia on Wednesday strongly condemned Israel’s publication of a map claiming Arab lands as part of Israeli territory, according to a statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
The map was published by official accounts affiliated with the Israeli government. It depicts parts of Jordan, Lebanon and Syria as part of Israeli territory.
In its statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the Kingdom condemns and rejects the Israeli claims, adding that these extremist claims reflect Israel’s intentions to consolidate its occupation and continue its blatant violations of countries sovereignty and the international law.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia renewed its call for the international community to assume is responsibility in stopping the Israeli violations against the region’s countries and peoples.
The Kingdom also stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and borders of these countries to ease tensions and stop attempts to undermine efforts to achieve peace in the region.
In a separate statement, the Arab League condemned the Israeli map. The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said that this act is “deliberate and alarming,” adding that this map reveals “the Israeli government’s radical agenda, which threatens regional stability and peaceful coexistence.”
Moreover, he warned the international community’s failure to address such provocative actions and irresponsible rhetoric risks exacerbating extremist sentiments on all sides.
In the same context, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al Yamahi, expressed categorical rejection of Israel’s claims, noting that these provocative actions constitute blatant violations of international resolutions, international law, and international humanitarian law.
He called for a strong international response to counter these practices, warning that Israel’s actions and violations pose significant threats to security and stability in the region.
