Saudi Arabia condemns Iranian attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned on Monday the Iranian attacks east of Erbil in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks that targeted the town of Koysanjak, east of Erbil.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry affirmed its “total rejection of all attacks that threaten the sovereignty, security, and stability of Iraq.” She also expressed “the kingdom’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of brotherly Iraq, wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured.”
Earlier on Monday, the semi-official Fars News Agency reported that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards attacked bases of “terrorist groups” with missiles and drones.
Officials in Iraqi Kurdistan announced on Monday the killing of two people and the injury of at least 10 others.
The Iranian bombardment has escalated since the death of an Iranian-Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, last September.
