Saudi Arabia calls for an extraordinary summit of G20 on Corona

Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday evening that it is making continuous contacts with the G20 countries to hold an extraordinary summit meeting next week with the aim of discussing ways to unify efforts to confront the spread of the Corona epidemic.

The G20 will work with international organizations in every way necessary to mitigate the effects of this epidemic.

The G20 leaders will also work to develop agreed policies to mitigate its effects on all people and the global economy, according to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”.

Moreover, the summit will build on the efforts of the finance ministers, central bankers of the Group of Twenty, and senior health, trade and foreign officials to define requirements and necessary response measures.

The Kingdom’s presidency will continue to support and coordinate international efforts to counter the effects of the epidemic on the human and economic levels.

The death toll from Corona in the world amounted to 7813 since its appearance in December, according to a toll conducted by Agence France-Presse according to official sources until 17:00 GMT Tuesday.

In addition, more than 189,680 cases have been recorded in 146 countries and regions since the beginning of the epidemic. These figures do not reflect the full reality, as a large number of countries have examined only those most in need of medical care.
