Saudi Arabia asks YouTube to remove inappropriate ads
Saudi Arabia’s Audiovisual Media Commission and Communications Commission asked that YouTube delete all offensive adverts and follow the rules.
This followed numerous complaints over offensive YouTube advertising that doesn’t conform to public taste.
In a statement released on Saturday, the two organizations said that they had seen that YouTube carried adverts with content that was contrary to Islamic and social norms and principles and that violated media content controls.
the Audiovisual Media Commission and the Communications and Information Technology Commission requested the platform remove these ads and abide by the regulations
The platform’s commitment will be monitored, and if the violating content continues to be broadcast, the necessary legal measures will be taken.
The Saudi government always strives to keep pace with the times and to enable young people to be open to the latest modern technologies, in line with Islamic and societal principles.
