Saudi Arabia advances in global education competitiveness indicators
The Saudi Kingdom has made progress in the indicators related to education, research, and innovation within the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2022 report, issued by the Global Competitiveness Center of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), which comes within the framework of wise leadership’s interest and support in education at all its stages.
The Kingdom’s center jumped to the 24th position in the report, compared to 32 in 2021, and advanced four positions in the education axis, bringing the Kingdom to the 37th position compared to 41 last year, in addition to the rise of two positions in the scientific infrastructure axis, to achieve the 30th position this year compared to the 32nd position in 2021.
This position contributed to the progress of the Kingdom’s center in one of the main axes in the report, which is the infrastructure axis. The Kingdom reached the 34th position compared to 36 last year, with the axis maintaining an upward trajectory since 2018.
The Kingdom’s education achieved advanced results in education, research, and innovation indicators within the indicators of global competitiveness this year. This is because the Kingdom rose nine places in the university education achievements index to advance to 28th place in 2022 compared to 37 last year.
The Kingdom jumped to 31st place this year in the global rankings of universities, which relates to the classification of “Times Higher Education” magazine for world universities, compared to 39th place in 2021, in addition to reaching 26th place in the intellectual property rights index during 2022 compared to 30th place last year.
