SAMA Warns Banks’ Clients from Anonymous Messages

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency “SAMA” warned against responding to anonymous fraudulent messages attributed to it, requesting customers to update their data in the affiliated financial institutions, by stop communicating with numbers that do not belong to the financial institutions.

“SAMA” stated that its employees do not ask customers for any data or information for unknown purposes, and that updating the data is done through the official channels of the financial institutions subject to the supervision and follow-up of the institution, except by the institution itself.

It is the responsibility of the clients if they share any personal information about their bank account.

The Monetary Agency stressed the risk of responding to these anonymous messages, noting that they are fraudulent messages and not issued by them.
